About AirTran Crew Member’s Director of Organizing
Tim Nelson has worked in the Airline industry for 24 years. Nelson joined the IAM in 1999, and became a Shop Steward for his Local 1487, in Chicago, Ill. Since then, Nelson has been elected to Committee Chairman in the local lodge; elected to attend District conventions; is now the Director of Organizing for District Lodge 141. Nelson firmly believes AirTran crew members will benefit from a union.
Nelson’s education includes a Bachelor's in Business, and a Masters background in contemporary culture. Nelson works with many charities, and he has even served as an elected Church Pastor.
The most important thing about Nelson is that he understands the path to helping AirTran crew members. The CrewMember path leads to exercising your CrewMember right for representation. It leads to justice on the job for crew members. Tim’s an aggressive organizer that can get it done. He’s an expert in networking and coordinating your crew member organizing committees.
