How can the IAM help Airtran Crew Members?
Resources and expertise available to AirTran crew members is unmatched
By joining the IAM, AirTran Crew Members will belong to an organization that represents over 60,000 airline workers. The IAM is the airline union. The IAM represents over 20,000 reservation, passenger service, and ramp workers in the airline industry. We represent the reservation and passenger service agents at Southwest, Northwest, United Airlines and other airlines. We also represent over 22,000 ramp workers from United, Northwest, US Airways, and a host of other smaller airlines.
AirTran management determined to stay non union and unaccountable
Your management is comfortable keeping the voice of AirTran Crew Members oppressed. When you vote in the IAM, AirTran Crew Members will be empowered with a voice; AirTran Crew Members will also be exercising your freedom to bargain collectively. For the first time, your management will be forced to negotiate with AirTran Crew Members, just like it does with its Mechanics, Flight Attendants, and Pilots.
Looking ahead
Only the IAM offers the IAM Pension Plan featuring a defined benefit. That means that as an AirTran Crew Member, you can have the opportunity to a secure retirement from Airtran, when it’s time to retire. A defined benefit may be cleverly confused — by corporations — with a defined “contribution.” The difference is who pays.
